The Faculty of Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering at the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh, was originally established as the Faculty of Engineering. Under this faculty, the Department of Internet of Things and Robotics Engineering (IRE) was established; its original name was the Department of Information and Communication Technology. This faculty was founded to develop skilled, technology-driven human resources aligned with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

To make teaching and learning engaging, up to date, modern, and high-quality through the use of advanced technology-based teaching methods and e-learning platforms, the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh, has established the Institute for Online and Distance Learning (IODL).
This institute plays a leading role in developing the university’s e-learning content, offering higher degree programs online, training faculty members in effective learning pedagogies, and enriching the teaching–learning process through educational materials, videos, images, and real-world visual content. It also facilitates training programs and offers flexible learning opportunities, allowing students to study at convenient times and in their preferred subject areas.
All course-related information—including class attendance, notices, learning materials (slides, e-books, PDFs), recordings of live classes, assignments, examinations, and results-is stored and delivered online through the institute’s Learning Management System (LMS). Both teachers and students can discuss academic or technical issues by posting and commenting on the LMS blog.

The Soft Skills Program is delivered primarily through a blended learning approach, combining online and face-to-face instruction. Training covers 90 skills, including communication, time management, team building, leadership, and negotiation. The program can be accessed anytime and from anywhere.
The program includes hands-on practical training and internship opportunities, enabling students to gain real-world experience and further develop their competencies. The program is offered free of charge to students and is available in multiple languages through translation.
