Functions of the Treasurer’s Office include:
• Overseeing the university’s overall
financial management, controlling funds, and advising the authorities on
improving the quality and efficiency of financial operations in line with
institutional needs.
• Arranging the preparation of the
annual budget, presenting it to the appropriate authorities, and taking the
necessary steps for its approval.
• Monitoring expenditures to ensure
that funds are used strictly for the purposes for which they were approved or
allocated.
• Signing all financial contracts on
behalf of the university.
• Advising the Vice-Chancellor,
relevant committees, institutes, and concerned bodies on matters related to the
university’s financial management.
• Regularly reconciling all bank
accounts, balancing cash books and bank statements, and preparing
reconciliation statements, trial balances, and related financial records.
• Monitoring item-wise annual
expenditure statements and other financial reports.
