The Vice-Chancellor is
the university's chief executive officer, with overall responsibility for
academic and administrative affairs. By virtue of office, the Vice-Chancellor
serves as Chairperson of the Syndicate, Academic Council, Finance Committee,
Planning and Development Committee, and other important committees, and takes
effective measures to implement the decisions of these bodies. With prior
Syndicate approval, the Vice-Chancellor may appoint, dismiss, or take
disciplinary action against teachers, officers, and staff of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor is also responsible for implementing the university's
approved budget. Above all, the Vice-Chancellor ensures academic,
administrative, and financial discipline and exercises all other powers as
prescribed by the statutes, university rules, and regulations.
